About Us:

A Place for Independent Thinkers

We believe you are more than capable of thinking for yourself. But you are constantly assaulted online with a dizzying array of people trying to convince you of something. We are here to create an oasis that does the total opposite: gives you the tools to make thinking for yourself quicker and easier.

ThoughtFull puts control over information and news where it should be: back in your hands. Our platform gives you the power to quickly understand debate-worthy issues by seeing the top reasons on both sides, from sources across the political spectrum. And we empower you to easily see where you stand by voting on each side's claims. Based on your votes, we give you a score you can use to compare your stance with others.

Ultimately, we aspire to become a one-stop reference that offers a multi-sided perspective and the opportunity to orient yourself on the questions you care about in politics, business, technology, culture - and beyond.

Our Core Principles

We believe in the power of free speech and the marketplace of ideas to elevate humanity.

We believe that we have more in common than we realize and that polarization is not an inevitable fact of life.

We believe that we all could benefit from learning and listening more, yet we all have something to teach.

We believe in calling each other out when we are wrong, constructive disagreement, and holding everyone accountable. Yet, we believe that personal attacks and shame have no place in our lives.

We believe that, "liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it; no constitution, no law, no court can even do much to help it...The spirit of liberty is the spirit which is not too sure that it is right; the spirit of liberty is the spirit which seeks to understand the minds of other men and women; the spirit of liberty is the spirit which weighs their interests alongside its own without bias" - Judge Learned Hand

Our Journey

Brian Wood and Nate Otey co-founded ThoughtFull after working together for 3 years to build the non-profit ThinkerAnalytix, helping high school students develop much-neglected reasoning skills. After we created a mobile game to teach logical reasoning skills through topics in the news, people kept asking us to map both sides of the most relevant cultural and political issues - and ThoughtFull was born.

We're privileged to be joined by veteran Technology Architect Jim Liao leading up our tech team. And our content team is staffed by some excellent freelancers dedicated to bringing you the full story on both sides.

We strive to present our content in a format that is both easy to digest and engaging.

About See Where You Stand ™

Take our simple quizzes on any issue, and our technology gives you a "C score" that shows you exactly where you stand. C scores are calculated by weighing your votes on the claims of each side.

As our site grows, you'll be able to store your C scores, and share with anyone you choose to (and we'll of course give you the option to not share your data with anyone). And you'll be able to easily compare your scores to your friends, family, and public figures (politicians, celebrities, etc.)

On top of that, we'll give you a political profile that takes all of your scores and combines them to give you a full picture of your political identity across issues.
