Should the Senate confirm Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State?
In five hours of testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Mike Pompeo, currently the CIA director, made his case to become the top US diplomat.

Pompeo sought to refute his widespread reputation as a war hawk, saying he was hoping for a diplomatic solution to the North Korean nuclear crisis and still believed that the Iran nuclear deal could be saved. He also surprised many by appearing far more friendly toward Democrats than he had been during the Benghazi investigation in 2015, during which he repeatedly attacked then-Secretary Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration.

Pompeo's fate remains uncertain, as several key Democrats on the 21-person committee have signaled they won't back him.
