Now, Trump is beginning to reimpose those economic sanctions. Politicians at home and allies abroad who had faith that the original deal was effective fear that the move could destabilize already delicate relations with Iran's leadership, as well as dangerously plunging the country into economic turmoil. Trump, however, believes that sanctions are the only way to stop Iran from becoming a greater military threat to the Middle East and the rest of the world.
